Street Sweeping
A city wide street sweeping is scheduled to take place sometime during the second half of August.

SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN,
that the City of Kilkenny in Le Sueur County will meet at the Kilkenny City Library, at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, the 11th of July for the purpose of Vacating an Alley.

Halfway to St. Paddy’s Day Planning Meeting

The next ‘Halfway to St. Paddy’s Day’ planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday July 26, 2016 at the City Library at 7:00pm. Please join us to help finalize planning that day’s activities or to help volunteer. For any applications to enter in the parade, be a craft fair vendor, etc. check out our website!

Election Judges Needed

The city is looking for a few volunteers to be judges for this year’s upcoming election. Judge applications can be found on the city website or stop in at the office. Please fill out and return to the city office.

American Legion Flag Retirement Ceremony
Monday, June 13, 2016 at 7:00 pm there will be a Flag Retirement Ceremony at the Fire Hall of which the community is invited to attend. If you have any old flags you would like to retire as well we invite you to bring your own to the ceremony.

City Wide Clean-up
Saturday, June 25, 2016 starting at 6 a.m.
** CURBSIDE PICKUP **

MUST HAVE ALL ITEMS OUT BY 5:30 A.M. TO ENSURE YOUR ITEMS ARE PICKED UP.

Waste Management has been contracted to provide curbside clean-up for excess waste for Kilkenny city residents. Items can be set out near the curb starting on Monday June 20th, 2016.

The regular garbage and recycling truck schedule and pickup will remain the same as usual.

Acceptable Items
General Non-Hazardous Household Waste “Junk”
Furniture items (Couches, Chairs, Tables, Mattresses, Box Springs, etc.)
Small amounts of Re-modeling materials (Siding, Dried out paint cans, Drywall)
All items should be boxed, bagged or contained in some manner

Unacceptable Items  
Electronics
Appliances
Asbestos
Batteries (Includes; auto, flashlight, etc.)
Chemical Products (Includes; herbicides, pesticides)
Fluorescent Tubes and Light Bulbs
Hazardous, Industrial, Infectious Waste
Liquid Waste, Paints, Thinners, Removers
Oils, Oil Rags (Includes; any type of oil drilling waste)
Radioactive Materials Naturally Occurring (NORM)
Tires
Yard Waste (Includes; grass clippings, tree and shrub waste)

Waste Management has complete authority to accept or deny any item. Any remaining items left on the curb after the clean-up must be removed and disposed of properly.

Library Fun Days are every 3rd Saturday from noon until 1 pm.  This event is FREE to ALL area children ages 2 to 10.

Dog Licenses:


The City of Kilkenny requires that your dog have a license as soon as it is six months old. All dogs within the City shall be vaccinated by a licensed veterinarian for Rabies. Licenses are inexpensive, easy to get, and good for your dog. License applications can be picked up at the First National Bank ( Kilkenny Branch), contacting the city office, or printed out from the city website. CLICK HERE FOR DOG LICENSE APPLICATION
Licenses are good for the calendar year. One application per dog.

Winter weather

As a reminder to please keep the streets cleared during the winter months to allow for the plows to pass through the streets and get them cleaned off properly.

Please remind children playing outside in the snow to stay away from the streets or on snow piles in the streets with plows coming through.

 

Dog Licenses

Administration/Council Updates

Kilkenny City Office Hours:

Tuesday: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Wednesday: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Thursday: 4:00 to 6:00 pm

New City Clerk/Administrator is Tanya Heinen.

Tanya will be at the office to accept water payments, dog licenses applications and for general questions.
